Do You Still Have Your Absentee Ballot?
It’s too late to put your ballot in the mail. You can drop it off at the drop box located at the election office (120 2nd Ave., Des Moines) or you can surrender your ballot at your polling site on Eletion Day. If you misplaced your ballot, you can still vote at the election office or polling site.
New Changes To Iowa Voting
- Absentee Ballots may be requested 70 days prior to an election.
- You may request an absentee ballot by downloading a form at sos.Iowa.gov or calling the Polk County Auditor Office at 515-286-3080.
- Early voting will be 20 days prior to an election (this includes the mailing of an absentee ballot and in-person voting).
- Absentee Ballots must arrive at the auditor’s office by the close of Election Day (8 pm).
- Absentee Ballots may only be delivered to the auditor’s office by a family member, a household member, or a caregiver.
- Your absentee ballot may be turned in at your polling site if you are fearful that it will not arrive on time.
- Polls will close at 8 pm on Election Day.
- If you miss one general election, you will be moved to Inactive Voter, and you are encouraged to reregister. After missing two elections, your name will be removed from the voter rolls.
These changes are brought to you by the Republican Party of Iowa and the Republican Governor.
