Polk County Democrats Summer Dinner

Rob Boston of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, will headline the Polk County Democrats 2025 Summer Dinner on Thursday, July 16 at 5:30 p.m. at The Loft DSM.
Rob serves as Senior Adviser at Americans United for Separation of Church and State and is the former editor of Church & State magazine. He’s the author of four books, including Taking Liberties: Why Religious Freedom Doesn’t Give You the Right to Tell Other People What to Do, and has appeared in major documentaries like God & Country and American Heretics. Rob brings decades of experience pushing back against the rise of religious extremism in American politics—and we’re honored to bring him to Polk County.
This event will also celebrate outstanding local leaders with the presentation of:

- The 1932 Award*
- Youth Leadership Award recipients*

Additional speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
Dinner will be catered by Great Caterers of Iowa and includes a buffet of salad, two entrees (vegan option available), sides, bread, and dessert. A cash bar will be available.
Candidate and advocacy booths are available for purchase.
Sponsorships are also available at a range of levels, with all proceeds going toward electing Democrats across Polk County.
